Concrete bases need to be designed correctly to ensure the longevity of the base, making it strong enough not to crack or sink over the lifetime of your garage.

The soil on your site needs to be considered before designing a concrete base. Clay, for instance has a greater likelihood of movement in the future, so the base will need to reinforce it, and probably made to be thicker.

The concrete base must be Square. When setting out the base, the shuttering needs to be square and that the external dimensions are 100mm (3”) larger (each side and front and rear) than the size of the building you have bought.
